Since the month of February 2020, when the covid epidemic in India has taken a dire shape, we have arranged for the distribution of relief materials in phases to the street dwellers, slum dwellers, rural marginalized people, migrant labours in different areas of Kolkata, Howrah, North 24 Parganas, Purulia, Hooghly districts. Our service has been very active during the first and second waves of the pandemic. Among the items that we provided to the people were rice, pulses, soybeans, biscuits, potatoes and other vegetables, milk, fruits, eggs, sattu (chathu), puffed rice (muri) and various type of dry food, cooked food. Also we provided for those people various type of health and hygiene related products. Such as body soap, sanitizer, detergent soap, masks, general medicines etc. During this time we stood by many people in important matters like health check up and treatment, domestic help, to continue their education for under privileged children. More than five thousand people were benefited through our services in the pandemic.
These activities, awareness & services during the COVID period were appreciated by 'Press Information Bureau & Regional Outreach Bureau' (Ministry Of Information and Broadcasting Government of India, Ahmedabad). Also appreciated by 'All India Institute of Public & Physical Health Sciences'(AIIPPHS). Swapnaloke & our president Smt. JeniyaTalapatra both awarded with the certificate by these authorities..
